  • January 28, 2026

The Arab Cycling Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with City Mountainbike on Tuesday, 27 January, in the Emirate of Sharjah, on the sidelines of the Sharjah International Cycling Tour, as part of efforts to strengthen joint cooperation and develop mountain biking across the Arab region.

The MoU was signed in the presence of H.E. Dr. Yasir Aldoukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation. The Federation was represented at the signing by Dr. Ashraf Mohammed Sayed Emam, Secretary General, while Mr. Kristof Bruyneel, Chief Executive Officer, signed on behalf of City Mountainbike.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. Mansour Bousaiba, President of the UAE Cycling Federation, Mr. Maher Al-Salim, President of the Syrian Cycling Federation, along with a number of officials.

The MoU aims to establish a temporary framework for cooperation, paving the way for the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the coming period. This collaboration is expected to support the development of mountain biking, with a particular focus on the Arab Mountain Bike Eliminator Championship (XCE), in addition to broader initiatives aimed at advancing the sport throughout the Arab region.

Both parties emphasized that this step reflects their shared commitment to strengthening international partnerships and exchanging expertise, in a manner that supports the growth of mountain biking and enhances its technical and organizational standards across Arab countries.
