Tomorrow… Riyadh will witness the opening of the “Riyadh 2023” road bike car… and the announcement of the “Arab Bike City” award.

Tomorrow, the capital, Riyadh, will witness the official opening ceremony of the Arab Road Cycling Championship “Riyadh 2023”, which will actually begin the day after tomorrow, Sunday, and continue until the 23rd of December, organized by the Saudi Cycling Federation and under the supervision of the International Cycling Union and the Arab Federation.
The ceremony showcases the participating teams, numbering 300 male and female players, representing 10 countries, and the race stages that are held over 7 days, through team time trial, individual time trial and general individual races, with a total distance of 730 kilometers.
The ceremony includes the announcement of the “Arab Bike City” award in its first edition, which is awarded to the two best Arab cities that have contributed to developing the infrastructure for cycling, and have a major role in supporting, developing and increasing the numbers of practitioners of this sport from various segments of society.
It is noteworthy that the Arab Cycling Federation approved last May the establishment of the “Arab Bike City” Award Committee, headed by Abdullah Al-Wathlan, President of the Saudi Cycling Federation and Vice-President of the Arab Federation, who confirmed that the award will contribute to increasing competitiveness among Arab cities in order to establish many paths and bicycle tracks. And preparing ways to practice it.
