The city of Sulaymaniyah in the Republic of Iraq will host the Arab Road Cycling and Para-Cycling Championship from October 3 to 13, 2025, with national teams from Iraq, the UAE, Jordan, Syria, Qatar, Palestine, Bahrain, and Lebanon taking part. More than 200 participants, including athletes, technical staff, and officials, are expected.
The races will be held on certified courses that comply with international safety standards and will include the following categories: men, juniors, youth, women, and junior women, in addition to para-cycling races.
In this context, Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, stressed that holding the championship in Iraq reflects its distinguished sporting status and its prominent role in supporting cycling at both the Arab and international levels. He noted that this event embodies Arab unity and joint efforts to promote and develop the sport. He also expressed his great appreciation to the Iraqi Cycling Federation for its efforts in hosting and organizing the championship, extending thanks to all participating Arab delegations whose presence adds special value and gives the championship extra distinction.
For its part, the organizing committee confirmed that all logistical, technical, and administrative preparations have been completed, stressing the readiness of all arrangements to receive the participating teams and delegations to ensure a successful championship that reflects an honorable image of Arab sports.
