Al Qasimi Praises The Decision Of Bicycle-Friendly Dubai

Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, praised the wise decision issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, calling for transforming the Emirate of Dubai into a bicycle-friendly city and directing His Highness to work on developing the system of legislation, laws and decisions in line with With this approach, and applying the best international practices in developing infrastructure to suit the use of this environmentally safe means of sports, he called on the Arab National Cycling Federations to work with the ministries and sports bodies in their countries to adopt the same idea and work to provide a safe environment for cycling players and enthusiasts to practice their favorite hobby and at the same time. It reduces the carbon emissions left by car exhausts on the environment and works to create a healthier and safer environment for society.

He stated that this approach was the subject of a proposal presented by the Arab Cycling Federation at the meeting of the Secretaries-General of the Arab Sports Federations, which was attended last month via remote video communication technology by Counselor Ismail Salem Al-Hosani, Secretary-General of the Federation, in the presence of more than 45 Secretary-Generals of the various Arab sports federations, in which he requested to raise a recommendation. From the conference attendees to the competent administration of the League of Arab States to work on adopting the idea of ​​issuing a decision from the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports to the Arab countries to work on providing safe paths and tracks and building open and closed tracks to encourage the practice of cycling in a safe environment and protect cyclists from traffic accidents and run-overs with encouragement. To spread the necessary culture among Arab societies of the necessity of respecting cyclists and not encroaching on the paths designated for practicing their hobby, in a way that ensures the development of this game and encourages all members of Arab society to practice it.
