Under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Yasir Omar Al-Doukhi, a coordination meeting of the General Secretariat of the Arab Cycling Federation was held, generously hosted by the Sharjah Sports Council, and attended by Dr. Ashraf Emam, Secretary General; Mr. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Administrative and Financial Director; and Mr. Mohammed Fadi Kalash, Executive Secretary.
The meeting commenced with a review of the latest developments related to the Federation’s activities and programs. Preparations for the Arab Cycling Combined Championship (road, mountain bike, and para-cycling), scheduled to be held in the Syrian Arab Republic next October, were presented.
Other championships listed on the Federation’s calendar for the current year were also discussed. H.E. the President noted that efforts are underway to secure host countries for several events, with announcements to be made in due course.
H.E. Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi also recommended adopting a new design for the Overall Excellence Shield, in line with the Federation’s visual identity, in preparation for its presentation to the Iraqi Cycling Federation as the winner of the 2025 edition in the upcoming period.
Attendees were briefed on the detailed plan of the Federation’s general strategy. H.E. the President emphasized the importance of immediately commencing the implementation of applicable components in accordance with the approved timeline.
The meeting also discussed the draft terms of reference for the standing auxiliary committees, in addition to the nominations received from Arab federations for membership in these committees. It was decided to extend the nomination submission deadline until the end of the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
Regarding institutional development, the meeting recommended updating the Federation’s official website to make it more comprehensive and information-rich, particularly with respect to referees, coaches, and the achievements of Arab federations, with implementation to take place in the coming phase.
The Federation’s financial status was also reviewed. H.E. the President indicated that efforts are ongoing to secure additional financial resources, while emphasizing the importance of all member federations fulfilling their financial obligations, thereby reinforcing their commitment and seriousness.
At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. the President expressed his appreciation to the attendees, highlighting the importance of holding such meetings regularly due to their role in enhancing coordination and monitoring the implementation of the Federation’s plans and programs.
