Strengthening Mutual Cooperation..Abu Dhabi Sports Council Welcomes Delegation from the Arab Cycling Federation to Enhance Cooperation

His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, received His Excellency Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, and His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Sayed Emam, Secretary General of the Arab Cycling Federation, at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Al Nukhaira Al Khaili, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, along with several directors and staff members from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
During the meeting, the delegation of the Arab Cycling Federation presented the federation’s strategic plan for the coming phase, highlighting key championships and events on its calendar, as well as development programs and initiatives aimed at advancing cycling across the Arab world and expanding participation at various levels.
Both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation through the hosting of several Arab cycling championships in Abu Dhabi, particularly road, track and E-Cycling events, leveraging the emirate’s advanced sporting infrastructure and extensive event-hosting expertise.
H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, reaffirmed Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination for hosting and organizing major sporting events, supported by world-class facilities and a proven track record of successful event delivery. He noted that cooperation with the Arab Cycling Federation represents an important step in supporting the development and growth of cycling across the Arab region.
Al Awani added that the Council is committed to building effective partnerships with Arab sports federations to facilitate the hosting of more championships and development programs, while supporting athlete development and enhancing the capabilities of technical and administrative professionals, contributing to the future growth of cycling in the region.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of organizing specialized training courses and workshops aimed at developing technical, administrative and officiating personnel in cycling, in line with international best practices and the evolving needs of the sport.
As part of strengthening collaboration between the two parties, it was agreed to establish joint working committees to study potential hosting opportunities for Arab championships and develop the necessary implementation plans for future events.
At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and continued support of the federation’s activities and programs. He emphasized that this cooperation will contribute to achieving further milestones in the development of cycling across the Arab world and enhance the sport’s standing throughout the region.
