The Arab Cycling Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the American University in the Emirates (AUE), as part of strengthening joint cooperation in the academic, research, and training fields, contributing to the development of sports and administrative cadres and supporting the progress of cycling in the Arab world.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the Arab Cycling Federation by H.E. Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, President of the Federation, and on behalf of the American University in the Emirates by H.E. Prof. Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of the University, in the presence of the academic staff of the Sports Management and Sports Law programs, at the University’s campus in Dubai.
A key outcome of this partnership is the launch of a 50% scholarship discount for outstanding Arab athletes who have won Arab, continental, or international medals, to enroll in the Master’s in Sports Management and the Master’s in Sports Law programs starting next year (2027), in a step aimed at enabling Arab cycling champions to continue their academic journey and preparing them to assume leadership roles in the sports sector.
The Memorandum also includes other educational benefits for members of the Arab Cycling Federation and the member Arab national federations, including discounts on bachelor’s and master’s programs, and a 40% discount for Federation members on the Master’s in Sports Management and Master’s in Sports Law programs, along with opportunities for cooperation in training, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise.
The Memorandum aims to broaden the scope of cooperation between the two sides by developing joint academic and professional programs, organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops, and providing practical training opportunities, thereby promoting the sustainable development of sports and administrative cadres in the Arab world.
This step comes within the Arab Cycling Federation’s strategy of building high-quality partnerships with leading academic institutions, contributing to the preparation and qualification of Arab talent, strengthening integration between the sports and academic sectors, and serving Arab cycling personnel.
The terms and conditions governing the scholarships and discounts apply in accordance with the signed Memorandum of Understanding and the regulations and bylaws approved by the American University in the Emirates.
