Medical and Anti-Doping Committee Sets Framework for the Next Phase

  • June 6, 2026

The Medical and Anti-Doping Committee of the Arab Cycling Federation held its first meeting on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, under the chairmanship of Mr. Jamal Abdul Latif Al Kuwari and in the presence of the committee members, to discuss its work plan and priorities for the upcoming period.

The meeting commenced with the approval of the committee’s organizational structure, with Dr. Najib Benzarti appointed as Vice Chairman and Ms. Iman Al Khalif appointed as Committee Secretary.

Members discussed the committee’s direction and priorities for the coming period and agreed to place special emphasis on educational and awareness initiatives at the beginning of the committee’s work, given their importance in promoting health and sports awareness and reinforcing the principles of clean sport among athletes, coaches, and administrative personnel.

The committee also approved three key pillars that will guide its work during the next phase: protecting the health and safety of athletes, promoting a clean sport culture free from doping, and enhancing medical education and awareness.

Members stressed the importance of developing educational and awareness programs and initiatives that contribute to raising the level of medical and preventive knowledge among athletes, while further promoting the values of clean sport in line with best practices and internationally recognized standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided that the committee would hold its next meeting during the following week to discuss implementation mechanisms for the three main pillars and to develop executive plans and proposed programs aimed at achieving the committee’s objectives in the coming phase.
