Arab Cycling Federation Commissaires Committee Holds Its First Meeting and Sets Priorities for the Next Phase

  • June 22, 2026

The Commissaires Committee of the Arab Cycling Federation held its first meeting under the chairmanship of H.E. Ayman Ali Hassan, Chairman of the Committee, with the participation of committee members. The meeting focused on discussing the committee’s work plan for the coming period and the mechanisms required to develop the Arab officiating system and enhance the capabilities of cycling commissaires across the region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the committee approved its organizational structure, appointing Sheikh Saif Suroor Al Sharqi as Vice Chairman and Brigadier Ahmed Saadallah as Committee Secretary.

The committee also discussed the importance of establishing a comprehensive and regularly updated database of commissaires operating within the Arab Cycling Federation. The database will include qualifications, professional experience, and officiating records, contributing to more effective selection and appointment processes.

Members emphasized the need to develop a structured evaluation system for commissaires based on clear technical criteria, with the objective of identifying and selecting qualified officials for Arab championships. The committee also highlighted the importance of organizing certification courses and preparing new officiating personnel capable of managing Arab cycling competitions at various levels.

The committee further resolved to work on preparing and developing Arab commissaires and supporting their qualification for Elite-level courses across all cycling disciplines, including road cycling, track cycling, and other cycling specialties. This initiative aims to strengthen Arab officiating expertise and increase Arab representation at international events.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee reaffirmed the importance of cooperation among all members to achieve its objectives of developing the officiating system and serving the continued growth of cycling throughout the Arab world.
