The General Secretariat of the Arab Cycling Federation continues to implement its plans and programs for 2026 under the supervision and guidance of H.E. Dr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation. The Secretariat’s team includes Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Sayed Emam, Secretary-General of the Federation; Mr. Khalifa Ali Al Mazrouei, Administrative and Financial Director; and Mr. Mohamed Fadi Hilal Kulash, Executive Secretary.
During the first half of the year, significant progress was achieved in a number of organizational and administrative matters. The Federation held its first Board of Directors meeting and the first Executive Office meeting of the Arab Cycling Federation, during which several important organizational and technical decisions were discussed and approved. These included the approval of the Federation’s auxiliary committees, their mandates and formations, as well as the adoption of the Arab Cycling Federation Strategic Plan (2025–2028), with implementation commencing according to the approved timelines in order to achieve the Federation’s objectives and strategic vision.
The General Classification Shield points for 2025 were also approved, and the Iraqi Cycling Federation was officially declared the winner of the General Classification Shield. The General Secretariat is currently overseeing the design of the shield in preparation for its presentation to the Iraqi Cycling Federation later this year.
During the same period, preliminary approval was granted for the membership applications submitted by the Comoros Cycling Federation and the Djibouti Cycling Federation, reflecting the Federation’s commitment to expanding its membership base and promoting cycling throughout the Arab world. In addition, the Board of Directors of the Arab Cycling Center was approved, with its first meeting expected to be held in the near future to begin implementing its plans and programs.
The General Secretariat continues to coordinate with committee chairpersons and members to convene their inaugural meetings and begin carrying out their assigned responsibilities in accordance with approved plans. It is also reviewing and updating a number of regulations and bylaws governing the Federation’s work. Furthermore, the designated committee continues its efforts to review and amend the Federation’s Statutes, in preparation for completing the necessary procedures for their adoption in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
As part of the technical and organizational preparations for upcoming events, the General Secretariat continues its arrangements for the Arab Road Cycling Championship, the Arab Mountain Bike Championship, and the Arab Para-Cycling Championship, all scheduled to take place in Damascus, Syria, in October, in coordination with the Syrian Cycling Federation and the relevant authorities.
The General Secretariat is also preparing to host the General Assembly Meeting of the Arab Cycling Federation and a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors in the United Arab Emirates in the coming period. At the same time, consultations and communications are ongoing regarding the hosting of the Arab Track Cycling Championship and the Arab Clubs Cycling Championship during the final quarter of the year in the United Arab Emirates.
The General Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Federation’s plans and programs in line with the vision of the Board of Directors, contributing to the development of cycling throughout the Arab world, strengthening cooperation and coordination among member national federations, and further consolidating the Arab Cycling Federation’s position as one of the leading Arab sports organizations dedicated to the advancement of cycling at all levels.
